Michael Laporte is an American tenor based in Berlin.
His repertoire includes Jaquino (Fidelio), Monostatos and the First Armored Man (Die Zauberflöte), multiple roles in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges (La Théière / Le Petit Vieillard / La Rainette), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Lysander (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), and Parpignol (La bohème).
He has appeared with MusiquEleganz, Opera Company of Middlebury, Trentino Music Festival, and the Croatian Opera Academy.
Michael Laporte studied opera at the Mason Gross School of the Arts (M.M.) and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.M.). He has worked with voice teachers including Sami Kustaloglu, Neil Shicoff, and Dawn Shicoff, as well as with répétiteurs and conductors such as Tim Ribchester and Emmanuel Plasson.
